I mean, as [livejournal.com profile] cleolinda said, I think the Hollywood Foreign Press just hates me. Or wanted to make me pay for my too much joy last year with the whole RotK winnings. And Elijah and Dom goodness.

And this year? It was and will certainly be the only time in my life when I can get to see the Awards live.
(In France I think the GG air on a cable channel but not sure and we only get the Oscars apart from that. And with the 6-hour time difference it's not easy to watch)
Well every single nominee I wanted dearly to see win well... lost. No pun intended. Except for Howard Shore. He was my ray of sunshine in this gloomy day. Yay for the best soundtrack composer ever!
So here were my favorites:

• BEST MOTION PICTURE - MUSICAL OR COMEDY
ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE SPOTLESS MIND

• BEST FOREIGN LANGUAGE FILM
A VERY LONG ENGAGEMENT (FRANCE)

• BEST PERFORMANCE BY AN ACTRESS IN A SUPPORTING ROLE IN A MOTION PICTURE
CATE BLANCHETT THE AVIATOR

  • BEST ORIGINAL SCORE - MOTION PICTURE
  HOWARD SHORE THE AVIATOR
Yayyyyyyyy!

• BEST TELEVISION SERIES - DRAMA
  LOST (ABC)
Haven't been angrier at voters since FotR and TTT at the Oscars.

  • BEST PERFORMANCE BY AN ACTOR IN A TELEVISION SERIES - MUSICAL OR COMEDY
MATT LEBLANC
JOEY

It's just... i'm suffering from Friends withdrawal

  • BEST PERFORMANCE BY AN ACTRESS IN A MINI-SERIES OR
A MOTION PICTURE MADE FOR TELEVISION
JULIANNA MARGULIES THE GRID
Okay I haven't seen this... but I luv Julianna! I miss Carol Hathaway!

And also, no sign of the Lost cast except for Evey for two seconds! WTFH? But we get to see the Desperate Housewives again... and again...
But I saw the pics... awwww they looked so beautiful! Evey, Jorge, Dom, Maggie and Ian! It's a shame we didn't see them on screen!

Wow that was a lot of ranting. But hey... now "I feel relieved" like my friend Boone would say. lol

Gah!

Oh and I forgot Johnny Depp of course, poor Johnny, he lost again...
Er yeah in fact I'm not in France right now but I usually live in the North-Western part, it's called Brittany, where it does not rain all the time.

I was born in France and now live in France. Brittany? Bretagne? That's where I went this summer, but then it DID rain quite a lot. XD

Pornic!!! Of course I know this town, I spent two weeks there with my school when I was 9, horse-riding, bathing, rock climbing... In our "département" we have nice beaches!
Well, LJ is a small world after all!

Omg cool. :D:D

Nantes was awesome, shopping malls and stores all over the place. XD I think we went to the centre ville at some point, where there was small streets with stores and a Fnac in a 'place'. It was very pretty. :D

Yeah lots of stores! Did you go in the "Passage Pommeraye"? It's really beautiful with small stores and all.
Oh yes the FNAC! I love this store! It's on "Place du Commerce", a very big place to meet friends. "Meet me in front of the FNAC!" LOL
And also there's the Gaumont movie theater but I don't like it much because it's quite expansive and there are not original versions of the movies :-p

Maybe, I don't remember about the Passage...But I do remember the Gaumont theater! And the Fnac, I think I bought a book there...I love FNAC's, they are awesome stores. And their collection of manga is HUGE.
