Dollhouse Drabble (prompt: first encounters)
Paul opened the door. The intruder in his evening routine was a girl with a basket of muffins.
“Wow -I mean, hi!” She said, grinning.
“Hi. Can I help you?” He smiled back. Hers was contagious.
“My name is Mellie and I’ve just moved in across the hall.” She pointed behind her. “And these are for you!” She added, placing the basket in his hands.
“Isn’t it supposed to be the other way around?”
“Well, yeah, but I figured, ‘big city… different rules’.”
“Well thanks… but I’m not really a sugary treats kind of guy.”
“I’ll keep that in mind.”
