I think people who decide the nominations for things like this (just like the Oscars and the Grammys) are the most narrowminded and boring people ever. They always pick the same people. Its as if they only know/watch/listen to a limited amount of people and than just nominate those all the freaking time.

Ugh, I have no idea. I'm even more pissed about "Family Guy" being the first animated show nominated for comedy. DIE IN A FIRE, EMMYS.

I actually like the choices for Lead Actor in a Drama. (Except "The Mentalist", which I've never seen and can't judge.) Lead Actress is insane, though. Mary McDonnell and Connie Britton deserved this so much it's not even funny.

Is that short-form thing the most random category ever or what?

Writing - as a "Mad Men" fan, I admit I was amused that they officially OWN this category, LOL. But it's also the biggest disappointment for me. BSG was nominated for writing two years in a row. (And for "Six of One" last time? Really?) It's the one thing I actually expected for them that they didn't get.

P.S. Somebody else watches "Better Off Ted"! Awesome!

Yeah, it's very annoying. I imagine a lot of voters just go with the "safe" choices (he won/got nominated before! he's probably the best!) if they don't watch a lot of TV.

Oh definitely. Which would be kind of a hilarious way for "Lost" to win. XD But I think similar nominations have happened with "The Sopranos" before -- most people will probably just get behind "Meditations in an Emergency" because it was the season finale (and written by the creator, I think).

Don't get yourself all worked up over these things. The people who vote for this show especially are ancient, out of touch and closed-minded to things that aren't cookie-cutter, basic, or somewhat high-brow (i.e. Breaking Bad, Mad Men). BSG and FNL are just too good for them, that's all.

Let's just have our own awards. The fans are the ones that matter, anyway.

I'm not really invested in the Emmys because I don't actually watch many shows that manage to snag nominations. I'll be rooting for Sandra Oh (she's due), Kristin Chenoweth (and really anything from PD), 30 Rock, The Office, BSG, NPH and... I almost want to root for Family Guy just because that is such a WTF nomination.

The Emmy nominations always remind me that I need to watch Mad Men. And now The Big Bang Theory too.

I have to admit, I've loved Boston Legal since the beginning, so I'm very biased. I can't even explain it: objectivel;y, it's not that good, but there's something about the chemistry between the actors and the fact that it embraces its silliness that just.. I don't know but I fall in love with it every time I catch an episode.

Though I will agree it is nominated WAY too often. WTF EMMY VOTERS?

What pissed me off, however, was BBT no getting a nom for best comedy. WTH? At least Jim Parsons got one.
