The Office
30 Rock
United States Of Tara
Weeds
Outstanding Casting For A Drama Series
Damages
Friday Night Lights (I'm so happy they're getting a nom here! :DDD)
Mad Men
True Blood
The Tudors
I don't understand why we can have vampires and bad History (that's what I heard about The Tudors) and not the cast of a certain show know for it's political and social commentary whose leads have been nominated to the Academy Awards in the past. WHATEVER.
Outstanding Costumes For A Series
Mad Men
The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency
Pushing Daisies <333
The Tudors
Ugly Betty
Outstanding Directing For A Drama Series
Battlestar Galactica (finally, a nom *rolls eyes*)
Boston Legal (why is this show always nominated, I never hear about it, is it any good?)
Damages
ER
Mad Men
Outstanding Single-Camera Picture Editing For A Drama Series
Battlestar Galactica (two!)
Breaking Bad
Lost
Mad Men
24
HIMYM is nominated for best editing for a comedy, which is well deserved but Naked Man? really? I thought the editing of Three Days of Snow was better.
Outstanding Main Title Design
Lie To Me (I like it but I wish the actors were in it instead of random ppl)
Storymakers
Taking Chance
True Blood
United States Of Tara (so pretty!)
NOW WHAT IS THIS FUCKERY?????

Castle • Flowers From Your Grave
Ghost Whisperer • Leap Of Faith
Legend Of The Seeker • Prophecy

SERIOUSLY???? NO BEAR MCCREARY FOR BSG??? AND NO MICHAEL GIACCHINO FOR LOST??? CAN YOU EVER REMEMBER WHAT THE MUSIC NOMINATED THEMES SOUND LIKE???
HEY NOMINEES, IS THERE A BALLET IN GERMANY MADE AFTER YOUR MUSIC??? DO YOU GIVE CONCERTS WITH MUSIC FROM YOUR SHOW??? DID THE MUSIC ACTUALLY PLAY A PART IN THE PLOT OF ONE OF THE EPISODES??? I THINK NOT.
This is actually the category I'm more pissed off at. Yes, the music category.

seriously, someone explains to me the Boston Legal thing. See, while I didn't really like Mad Men, I know it's good and the acting noms are well deserved, that show is just not for me. But is Boston Legal that good? Are these two guys (lol Captain Kirk) better than Michael Hogan's one-eyed acting?

I don't care. Yet these are my 2 favorite actresses from Grey's Anatomy. But just NO. This season doesn't deserve ANYTHING. How is Elizabeth Mitchell not in this list?

Ugh, I have no idea. I'm even more pissed about "Family Guy" being the first animated show nominated for comedy. DIE IN A FIRE, EMMYS.
I actually like the choices for Lead Actor in a Drama. (Except "The Mentalist", which I've never seen and can't judge.) Lead Actress is insane, though. Mary McDonnell and Connie Britton deserved this so much it's not even funny.
Is that short-form thing the most random category ever or what?
Writing - as a "Mad Men" fan, I admit I was amused that they officially OWN this category, LOL. But it's also the biggest disappointment for me. BSG was nominated for writing two years in a row. (And for "Six of One" last time? Really?) It's the one thing I actually expected for them that they didn't get.
P.S. Somebody else watches "Better Off Ted"! Awesome!

- not listened to the music
it's not that I disagree with the lead actor category but it's ALWAYS the same people
lol yeah short-form is weird, is it new?
and you know, it's not necessarily a good thing for Mad Men, the votes wil spread out and maybe the 5th will win!
yay Better off Ted! I loooove it
no subject
Date: 2009-07-16 04:19 pm (UTC)Yeah, it's very annoying. I imagine a lot of voters just go with the "safe" choices (he won/got nominated before! he's probably the best!) if they don't watch a lot of TV.
it's not necessarily a good thing for Mad Men, the votes wil spread out and maybe the 5th will win!
Oh definitely. Which would be kind of a hilarious way for "Lost" to win. XD But I think similar nominations have happened with "The Sopranos" before -- most people will probably just get behind "Meditations in an Emergency" because it was the season finale (and written by the creator, I think).
Icon! <3 I love those two.

Date: 2009-07-16 04:02 pm (UTC)(Of course, Dr horrible needs to get one too)
I'd love Chandra Wilson to get something too but... I don't like Grey's anymore so I'm not really sure... But she's so fabulous...
I love 30 Rock A LOT but seriously, I agree with you on the 'too much noms' stuff.

Date: 2009-07-16 04:39 pm (UTC)Don't get yourself all worked up over these things. The people who vote for this show especially are ancient, out of touch and closed-minded to things that aren't cookie-cutter, basic, or somewhat high-brow (i.e. Breaking Bad, Mad Men). BSG and FNL are just too good for them, that's all.
Let's just have our own awards. The fans are the ones that matter, anyway.

Date: 2009-07-17 09:42 am (UTC)Mad Men is really good, but not my thing

Date: 2009-07-16 10:26 pm (UTC)No. Boston Legal is ok, but I have NO CLUE why it scores all these noms. It's not that fantastic.
I just can't get over the lack of noms for BSG and Co. I mean...just...how...why...huh...GRRRRR.

Date: 2009-07-17 06:10 am (UTC)Though I will agree it is nominated WAY too often. WTF EMMY VOTERS?
no subject
Date: 2009-07-18 04:01 pm (UTC)What pissed me off, however, was BBT no getting a nom for best comedy. WTH? At least Jim Parsons got one.
And I have no words for Bear. Seriously, it's good I already have no more respect for the Emmy people.
