Who has two thumbs and stayed up all night watching the Oscars until 6:20 am?
Yep, me. And my mum (!). And my dad went to bed at about 3:30 am because he had to work this afternoon.
The pre-show was great. For the first time, one of the Canal + guys was on the Red Carpet and got to interview the celebrities. The only foreign TV with the BBC and Canal + Spain. He squeed like a fangirl after he got to talk with Al Gore. And he kept yelling "here here for French TV please!" My mum was giggling everytime a celebrity was interviewed and realized it was French TV and said "Bonsoir" and "Merci beaucoup" lol. And some of them speak very good French ^^ Like Jodie Foster of course.
The guys from Indigènes (Days of Glory) were so funny, just happy and excited to be there, trying to get on screen with Clint Eastwood lol.
Overall, I thought the ceremony was funnier with Jon Stewart last year but some things were great like the interpretative dances or sth, you know, with the shadows, that was WHOA.
Ellen getting her picture with Eastwood taken by Spielberg! And directing him hehe.
The song with Will Ferrell, Jack Black and John C Reilly hahaha.
Everyone was so handsome. Leo DiCaprio reminded me how much I used to be a Leo fangirl lol. My mom said "wow he has grown a lot!" to which I replied "Titanic was 10 years ago mom".
Anne Hathaway and Emily Blunt scared by Meryl Streep
Abigail Breslin and Jaden Smith! So cute!
Jessica Hudson is a lucky girl.. no no not because she got her award... but she got to get a kiss from George Clooney!!!
Clive Owen + Cate Blanchett = prettiest pair of presenters
I kept squeeing everytime Steve Carell was on screen, my parents may think I'm crazy now. And he was there with his wife aka Carol in The Office this made me giggle too.
WHOA at best director, when I saw Coppola, Lucas and Spielberg on stage it was just WOW. And then when finally Scorcese got the Oscar that was too much awesomeness on stage.
BTW anyone else found it unsatisfying that only the producer of The Departed got on stage to get the Bes Picture award? I thought all the crew (and especially Scorcese) would join him to celebrate! Or maybe I still have in mind images of the 2004 ceremony... *shrugs*
All this made me want to watch all the movies that competed.
WTF at Tom Cruise being there
I just remembered I used to watch Young Hercules with Ryan Gosling in it. That's where I know him from. *scrolls imdb page* Oooh I think I also watched some episodes of Breaker High. (For Frenchies: that's from when I used to watch KD2A from time to time, yay for lazy Saturday mornings! lol)
DeviantArt has deleted all my mood themes for copyright violation :(
I have to find some other way to host them. Maybe I'll try Free, I found a great tutorial!

Date: 2007-02-26 09:13 pm (UTC)I thought Ellen was great, though I'm a hugeee Ellen fan. As much as I love Jon Stewart, he's pretty political for an entertainment awards show. It was nice just to have someone cracking silly jokes. I especially liked the box of chardonnay line. Ellen kills me.
