So, I got to see GoF ! ! ! Yayyyyyyyy !
So my general thoughts with no spoiler... well I liked it very much, more than PoA, and a lot of the things I didn’t like in it were already wrong to me in PoA, like the way they dress. So...

Things I loved
- the humor, I don’t know if it was on purpose but I laughed a lot
- I laughed 2 times where I don’t think it was... appropriate... knowing that there were children in the audience and my parents next to me... the first time because of Rita telling Harry that the broom closet was more intimistic, and the second time... come on... Cedric telling Harry about taking a bath ? I was almost waiting for him to say « you know the Prefect’s bathroom ? Meet me there » lol !
- how the tasks were made, they changed things but that was okay to me
- Cedric is hot (but I still like Oliver Wood better)
- Ron/Hermione yay ! Except that the French dubbing sucked during their big fight, it sounded « overplayed »
- the whole scene in the graveyard ! awesome !
- the world cup ! wow ! it’s a pity we don’t actually see any Quidditch though
- Basically, I like how the new characters were pictured (exceptions, see later)
- I’m a sensitive person so I cried when Cedric told Harry to bring his body back, and during the actual bringing the body back yay Hogwarts won oh no but Cedric’s dead, and when Dumbledore says the nice things at the end.

Things I didn’t like
- at first the movie was going way too fast for me ! I was like hey ! Slow down please ! And also, the lack of transition between the scenes
- the French dubbing, except for McGonagall (why? I dunno). 4th movie and the guy that dubs Harry Potter still has a child voice...
- as always, I have trouble with Movie!Hermione. Movie!Hermione! Now with whining and an ugly pink dress !
- OMG creepy Dumbledore ! Is it just me or did he try to strangulate Harry back in the champions’ room !
- as a French, I was « offended » by the apparent dumbness of the Beauxbatons girls. Pretty, but dumb. I’m kidding, I’m not really offended but still, they looked all dumb.
- Balrog Sirius
- one of the ending scenes... Harry asking about the wands connecting... Dumbledore saying « oh it’s Prior Incantatem » and then explaining what this means. Oh nope, sorry, he DOES NOT. Which is stupid, because people who have read the books knew what the phenomenon was so no need to name it and people who haven’t now wonder what Prior Incantatem means...

Things that annoy me because I’m a stupid book purist
- they totally killed the 3 champions’ personality ! At the end of the movie Dumbledore was all like, Cedric was noble blablabla but in the movie he does not look that noble to me. I mean, no reference to what he did during the Quidditch match year 3 (because of course of the almost non-quidditchness of movie 3 grrrr), and then you always feel like he just HAS to be noble because Harry is first. And at the end in the maze they’re just fighting fighting each other I hated that part, until Cedric falls and then calls Harry for help... ok he finally tells Harry to get the Cup but at that point it’s like, « duh ! ». Then, Krum is described like a muscleman without any brain... and I don’t think that’s supposed to be the case... Finally, Fleur is... well... useless... you just keep wondering how on earth she could have been chosen as a champion !
- the sisters Patil both in Gryffindor ! (and not looking alike but I understand that it can be hard to find twins that are good actors)
- I think they kill a part of the plot by showing Barty Crouch Jr so early in the movie, both with Voldemort and at the World Cup. It feels obvious that he’s the villain. And also, please he didn’t escape from Azkaben, he was supposed to be DEAD. Because it does not simplify the plot, instead of « how could he be there he’s dead ! » we have « how could no one in Azkaban notice he was gone ! » And also, the lips-licking thing was obvious to me. Yeah I know, it’s because I’ve read the books (my parents keep telling me that). And they also should have said that Moody’s always drinking from his own glass or thing because he does not trust people. Because they kept repeating Polynectar every few scenes so it sounded obvious tome too. But then as my parents said...

And I’m also upset because I feel like the movies flaws are accumulating and that each new one has to do with the things missing from the previous one... *sigh*

But I did enjoy the movie btw. Better than PoA. Because I’m used to the PoA flaws now, like the muggle clothes.

Also, I need quotes from the movie. English quotes. Because I had to see it in French. Ew.
But I want to use actual quotes, for fanart and stuff. So please ?

You know, they had identical Patils in the other movies. They recast they with girl who weren't even twins. Arg. Oh well... I look at the movie as just a live action fanfic and then feel much better about the whole thing...

I've been collecting quotes myself...
Any particular part you want quotes from?

Right-o!

"Everyone go back to your knitting... This'll be akward enough with out you nosy sods listening in..." -One of the twins in the common room before Harry and Ron make up. I think that's the quote...

"Well done, dragon!" -Twins at the 1st task.

"Is that a student?!"
"Technically, it's a ferret."

"Viktor's more of a physical being..."

"I'M NOT AN OWL!"

"Hey, my eyes aren't glistening with the ghosts of my past!"

"You know how I like it when they walk..."

"Everything's going to change now, isn't it?" (not funny really, put a major quote)

"Murder me, Harry."

"Do you ever think we'll just have a quite year at Hogwarts?"
"No."
"Didn't think so. Oh well, what's life with out a few dragons?"

"Piss off." (I like it when they let Ron swear, hee hee.)

"Mr. Potter is a boy, not a piece of meat!"

"How could anyone figure that out? It's completely mental."

"Oh no! I killed Harry Potter!"

"Fleur Delacour is as much a fairy princess as I am."

"I told Hermione to tell you that Seamus told me Dean was told by Parvati that Hagrid was looking for you."

"Well done, moral fiber."

"P.S. The bird bites."

um, that's all I can think of just now, so yeah... haha

I agree with you on just about everything :-D

I would add that I liked how much they used Ginny in this one, though, considering that she was pretty nonexistent in the second and third movies. And Bonnie Wright did a fabulously good job playing her, too... gives me hope that they won't need to recast her for the fifth and sixth movies :)

I thought Fleur was pretty useless, too. :( I didn't take that as a French thing, though -- I took it in a feminist way. "What? Only BOYS can do anything right in the Triwizard Tournament?? PSHAW!"

And they didn't explain the Marauders thing! Which Alfonso Cuaron said he left to be explained in the fourth movie... except they didn't, so now it'll have to be explained in the FIFTH movie... except that they won't have room for it and people will never ever understand why Harry's Patronus is a stag. GAH.

All I can say is this: After leaving Sirius out of the fourth movie so much, he better have a BIG ROLE in the fifth one, or else no one's going to care when he dies :( And I will go weep with Lupin. sigh.

*is mad at the lack of Marauders too*

well at least we stupid book fans will cry when he dies

there was absolutely no Sirius in this movie, because Balrog Sirius does NOT count *pouts*

SO. TOTALLY. AGREED.

- as a French, I was « offended » by the apparent dumbness of the Beauxbatons girls. Pretty, but dumb. I’m kidding, I’m not really offended but still, they looked all dumb.
As a GIRL, I was offended by the Beauxbatons girls...they were all like...fairy princess blondie types and it was...weird. Also, since when were Beauxbatons and Durmstrang single-sex schools? Gah!

- the sisters Patil both in Gryffindor ! (and not looking alike but I understand that it can be hard to find twins that are good actors)
That annoyed me to. And a final annoyance as a book purist: Hermione's dress robes are supposed to be blue, not pink! Roar! lol

And my contribution to the quotes?

"Put your hand on my waist."
"Where?!"

"Babbling, bumbling bunch of baboons. Bet you can't say that 5 times fast."
"Babbling, bumbling bunch of baboons."
"Babbling, bumbling bunch of baboons..."

yeah what I meant was "as a French GIRL" in fact

what's up with the single-sex schools! as if only Hogwarts was modern or sth, or if there were only witches in France and wizards in Bulgaria-Russia-well the East

hehe thanks for the quotes!!!
