Bloody Torchwood!

Just finished Torchwood (CoE: day five) and am now really depressed :((( Yet I tried to prevent this by eating ice-cream.

Oh bloody Torchwood why did you have to go and be smart and good and make me think and make me cry (you reminded me of BSG). I dealed with you better when you were just cheesy fun.



I literally cried during the whole episode, it was just so awful to see the kids taken by the Army, and reminders of Ianto's death, and...

I can't decide which was saddest: Iantoooooooo's death ;___________; or Frobisher killing his own family or Jack sacrificing his own grandson.

They ruled: Gwen, Rhys, Ianto's brother-in-law when he raised everyone to fight, PC Andy in the same scene, Bridget Spears at the end (what a terrible name btw)

Is there gonna be a season 4??? I heard the ratings were good... but there's almost no one left! Torchwood = TEAM!!! That's why Ianto's death pisses me off if the series continues because 2 doesn't make a team! And there's no Hub anymore! No Hub, no Team...

I understand that the "principle" of the show is to show us how everyone Jack cares about is taken away from him, that his immortality is a curse... but still... WHY IANTO WHY??? And so soon after Tosh&Owen :(((

Seriously why doesn't Jack try to cling to the Doctor now? They share the same curse of having people leave them one after the other, that would solve both their problems.

I'm so torn about this mini-season. I can't deny it was very good overall but... I can't see it going on after that you know?

My thoughts. Although for now I can't forgive the writers for how painful it was to watch this season.

Season 4 is not a sure thing, I heard the actors and writers weren't at ease talking about it in conventions and interviews when they were promoting season 3. And after that? I can't see a season 4. But I didn't see a season 4 for Prison Break either, and it happened so...

Since I finished it a few hours ago I find myself thinking about it and sighing.

I read somewhere that season 4 would only happen if ratings were good and apparently they were... so we'll see...

I know the feeling. I think I'll see a bit more clearly tomorrow, but my resentment is very strong right now. My current personal background must be playing in it, and I know Torchwood is not my feel good TV show, but still...

But how can there even be a season 4 after all that? Honestly. As you said, there's almost no one left. And the ratings may have been good, but the Ianto fans (and Jack/Ianto fans, of course) are so pissed off and heartbroken right now that they don't have the heart to give a chance to season 4, and without them, I'm not so sure the show will do as well. What do you think?

from what I understand, Torchwood was on a different channel/schedule(?) this time to bring in more viewers than the dedicated fandom. People who'd never watched TW before were supposed to be able to jump in the story without the background. And I guess it worked because it was watched by more people than S1&2 right? And the numbers didn't decrease during the week so the new audience wasn't lost. I think they were more in for the story than the characters as they don't know them well. And as a result they're less attached to them, maybe even only saw Ianto as the queer one or sth, and didn't have the residual pain of the loss of Owen&Tosh. But again, idk how many they are.

Even if we don't take the new viewers in consideration, about 6 millions (total)watched and I'm sad to say that I don't think most of them are pissed off as the fandom is because like in any TV show they probably watch it casually.

BUT dedicated fans buy DVDs & memorabilia and stuff... idk how what the ratios are

How could people not be depressed by the story itself? It was devastatingly dark.

As you say, dedicated fans are the ones who make the merchandising worthwhile, it may be something after all. I don't know. Too depressed :/ and a by a stupid TV show whats more! I've already been disappointed by this show's writers, how come I'm not immune?!

Oh man. I so didn't expect this. I started watching and was looking forward to - like you said - cheesy fun.

I'm not sure I want a fouth season - not unless Jack travels back in time and the team is back together again. As much as I liked Gwen this season (unlike the past), she's not enough.

I mean, this was bloody good! but why they had to kill Ianto? Why they had to made Jack running away?

I was hoping for a new team with Martha and Mickey and Gwen and Jack. But first Martha can't be there (yeah I know) and then Mickey (no sign of him), and now Ianto????? After Tosh and Owen?
I can't stop crying cause this season was bloody hard and bloody bad and it kills me, really.

With this kind of arc, why there's only a really small mention of the Doctor? WHERE IS THE DOCTOR? He can travel through time and space... He can fix it! HE HAS TO!

I read an itw of RTD saying he is ready for a season 4. but with what??

I hope he comes back to London Expo too but I doubt it because according to his website he's in the US from Oct 30 for a convention so idk...
but he goes to a lot of them!
this time we'd know who he is haha and not just like him because he's cute ^^

yeah, it's all confusing but he's really moving to the US!
