it's season finale week!

and boy do they bring controversy! it feels like there was a big meeting with all the TV writers from every show, exchanging crack and weird-to-lame plot twists while mocking the shippers
"Remember when we promised you your favorite couple was gonna have hot sex for realz? LOLZ it was fake" aka House & Bones
Let's talk about Bones in particular. This episode is getting a lot of hatred from the fandom right now. I get it. But I personally enjoyed it.
1/ "omg Hart Hanson lied to us!!! they didn't have real sex!!!"
Well I didn't feel that cheated. Why? Because I've learned not to take the writers' statements literally, or even to always doubt them. Because I do ship B/B but I love the UST and am afraid of what will happen when they do get together (when, not if). Because I'm a moderate shipper. Because I don't watch Bones only for B/B! I also watch it for Hodgins and Sweets and Angela and Cam and the interns and everything.
2/ "pffft that was a lame episode for a season finale"
you know, it kinds reminds me of Restless, the Buffy S4 finale. I remember thinking "wtf is going to happen in the finale, everything is resolved!" and then there's this strange episode with people from the past and the cheese man (lol) and alternate universes.
I agree that HH was probably on crack when he wrote this but it's Bones! It's not your typical serious crime show! That's why I love it! So it worked for me.
For the record, I would watch a Bones spinoff set in this AU. LOL The self-references were hilarious! Gormogon! (Sweets saying everyone thinks he's Gormogon but he's not loooool) The Gravedigger! The Lab! Zach going to prison for a crime he did not commit! Everyone's new job! Wendall as the doorman & Clark as the rapper loooool. The only consistent things were the love interests... B/B of course but also Hodgins liking Angela, and Sweets/Daisy. A few reversed roles like the Booth brothers too (not for everything).
3/ "the ending was cliché and laaaame"
ok, I got nothing. lol I don't really know what to think of it. It does sound like sth out of a soap opera
House
Not really anything to say specifically as I don't ship House/Cuddy (I don't ship anyone on that show) but what a bad week for the shippers!
LOST

Rose&Bernard (&Vincent!) <33333 I love how Rose was all "damn it, they found us! I have it up to here with all your drama!"
so Jacob's pal at the beginning = Smokey = fake!Locke?
I kinda love Miles now, I loved how he said "hey guys maybe WE are gonna cause the incident?"
I didn't like how easily Juliet & Kate changed their mind and decided to help Jack! WTF. I did like Sawyer hitting Jack in the nuts hahahahahaha.
I cried several times, especially because of Juliet ;____; One thing I don't understand though, is everyone seems to be sure that she's dead, and the only one dead. Why? I see several possibilities:
1. She detonated the bomb and Faraday's theory is wrong, so she dies... and everyone near the bomb too! Also, Sayid looks in bad shape :(
2. She detonated the bomb and Faraday's theory is right, so... no one dies! They're all back on the plane or wherever they were at the beginning of the series timeline. So Juliet is NOT dead. (remind me why this solution is a good one already? I mean, it's Jack plan -lol- and it means Kate will go to prison, Sawyer is a con man, Hurley thinks he's cursed, Charlie is alive but a junkie and he doesn't know Claire who's going to give up Aaron, Jin&Sun's marriage is pretty much over and Ji-Yeon doesn't exist, Ana-Lucia is alive -lol-, Rose is dying of cancer...)
3. She detonated the bomb and Faraday's theory is wrong, but she's the only one who dies somehow? And maybe Sayid because his injuries are very bad? UGH if Juliet & Sayid die, I'm gonna be very unhappy. You know who my favorite characters are on Lost? Charlie, Desmond, Faraday, Eko, Juliet, Sayid... see a pattern yet???
Grey's Anatomy
I knew about the actors "leaving" but the spoilers I'd read were about George going to Iraq... I SO didn't see that coming! I was compltely distracted by the Izzie plot and the George-goes-to-Iraq plot and everything else and it didn't cross my mind that the John Doe patient was someone we knew! (I thought the twist was sth like, the girl pushed him under the bus lol) And I didn't get it right away, I was like "007? what is that?" and then I understood at the same time as Meredith and gasped and said "fuuuuuck". I was really shocked, and I don't even care for George (but I do care about his coworkers & friends' reactions). Good job from the writers, letting us to believe he was in surgery, and everyone kept talking about him and seeing him at 6pm for an intervention and we were kinda used to not seeing him much this season so I didn't think "hey, wth is George?"
Izzie's story was more predictible. Girl loses memory. Guy tries to make her remember, is a bit harsh but it's because he loves her that much. Guy loses it and says what's on his mind. Girl remembers this. All is well and girl and guy hug. And then girl "unexpectedly" crashes. idk what I want anymore, I fell out of love with Izzie mainly because of the George/Izzie fiasco and then because of the wayyy too long Ghost!Denny storyline but I'm so sad for Alex, he's making me cry :( She's the only good thing that ever happened to him :(
Anyway... evil cliffhanger! Who's gonna make it, if any?
1. They both die. Believable, as there were rumors of the actors both wanting to leave. But getting rid of 2 of your main characters (out of 5, if you only count the origina,l younger characters) seems a bit heavy to bear for the show, imagine the consequences on the other characters, and the emo storylines!
2. One of them die. 2 sub-theories about the elevator metaphor. a) Izzie is riding to the elevator to the beyond and George, already dead, is already there. He makes us go back to the world of the living as it's not her time yet. b) Izzie is riding to the elevator to the beyond and George is about to get in it and she tells him it's not his time yet.
3. None of them dies. I'd be disappointed in the writers. You cannot do this and NOT kill at least one of them.
The Office
♥ ♥ ♥
THANK YOU THE OFFICE FOR NOT BEING DEPRESSING AND ENDING ON SUCH A POSITIVE NOTE. I was often "meh" about you this season but I still love you.
CALL IN THE SUBS!!!
I totally called it when the nurse asked about the x-rays though hahaha.

Date: 2009-05-15 06:21 pm (UTC)I think the main reason why everyone thinks Juliet will be the only one to die in theory#2 is that she came to the island differently? That would mean that Miles had to die, too, though. Also, Elizabeth Mitchell got a new role in a miniseries, but I don't see how that would be a problem. IDK, I don't want her to die. Her and Miles were my faves these past episodes.
Just my two cents. Back to work now.
ETA: remind me why this solution is a good one already?
Jack doesn't lose Kate, so it's all good obviously. [rolls eyes]

Date: 2009-05-15 06:35 pm (UTC)Also can't believe Izzie AND George might die. Really good cliffhanger. I was afraid Izzie would lose her memory because this is like the worst storyline ever. I'm still in "OMFG !!" mood, the end was so good.

Date: 2009-05-15 11:47 pm (UTC)I love UA!Clark!!! LOL LOL LOL!
And I enjoyed to see all of them in One episode!
But the end??? REALLY!! Writers be kind! PLEASEEEEEEEEEE
House... I don't ship House/cuddy too so... But I liked the twist and the way of it happened.
Lost: I'm so angry against the writer right now! Mostly b/c of what happened to Juliet and Juliet/Sawyer and what Jack wants... But I was happy to see Vincent and Rose and Bernard!
And I liked the Jacob!storyline. Interresting! And the twist with Locke-not-so-alive!
Grey's Anatomy: I loved Cristina, Miranda and Alex's storylines but in this episode it was so much better! I laugh, I cried, I was angry... I love them soooo much! And Owen too. And I would be pissed if Izzie die cause I love her again, after the Gizzie fiasco!
Btw, I didn't get the "OO7" thing... someone can explain me?
The Office: YOU RULEZ! YOU MADE MY WEEK!!

Date: 2009-05-15 11:54 pm (UTC)007 = James Bond = license to kill, that was George's nickname from day one because his 1st patient died or sth
Alex refers to him again as 007 sooner in the finale when he learns about his going to Iraq I think

Date: 2009-05-16 12:12 am (UTC)OMG, me too. I'm waiting for the majority of fandom to calm the frak down and the AU fics to start. Because drunk, scruffy, novelist!Hodgins is just... GUH. I mean, Hodgins is GUH already but AU!Hodgins was oh so very nice. I'm so glad someone else liked the finale! (And I hadn't made the "Restless" connection until I read this, but you're totally right!)
