A is for Arrested Development

It's one of these "too smart for FOX, gone too soon" shows. It's just brilliant and hilarious and provides countless jokes. I just have to say a few words (I've made a huge mistake), sometimes one word (Annyong!) and you know what I'm talking about! This show is not for everyone. It's very fast-paced, the main characters (= the family) are crazy and as they would say themselves, not likable in a classic way. But they're so fantastically ridiculous and played by brilliant actors. The continuity is amazing, and sometimes you get jokes only after seeing the following episodes.

Let's all have a thought for Mrs Featherbottom, Bob Loblaw's Law Blog, Mr Bananagrabber, Les Cousins Dangereux, Mr. F (bonus points if you sang it while reading it), Saddam Hussein lookalikes, Poof Magazine, Justice the dog, imoscar.com, no touching policies and Carl Weathers.

Dear Michael Cera, get your act together, stop making the same movie over and over again and agree to the movie!

B is for Battlestar Galactica and how much I miss it

Where do I even start??? If you don't know how much I love this show, then you don't know me at all.

6 months after starting to watch it I was buying a ticket for my first convention ever. I love everything about this show. This is gonna sound corny but to me it's one of these rare projects where every detail, every person chosen, was perfect. From Tricia Helfer (who was 100% unknown) to the design of the ships, from Bear McCreary's epic music to shooting in Vancouver. And that each person who participated has genuine love for the series, is proud of it and is part of the BSG family.

The only other projects for which I feel the same thing would be the LotR movies and Firefly.

C is for Current Celebrity Crush
I guess my new celeb crushes from 2009 qualify for this? My #1 being Bradley James.

Unless "The-Beatles-back-in-the-60's" count as "current" lmao. But look how cute!

C is also for Community

Community is one of my favorite new shows this year. It's about a bunch of crazy characters going to Community College and joining a Spanish study group. And it's hilarious. Especially Abed and Troy.

D is for Dollhouse (especially feelings on season 2)

*clears voice* WHYYY OH WHYYYY. The end of season 1 was really good, and Epitaph One was amazing. And then season 2 blew me away. My love for the show has reached the point where I don't know where it fits in my Whedon shows ranking anymore. Back in season 1 I used to put it last (Firefly being #1 forever and ever, then Buffy, then Angel) and now I'm not sure! Also, I love Sierra/Victor so much, it goes directly to my list of favorite ships ever. And Enver Gjokaj should get an Emmy.

and D is also for Dinosaurs

When I think of dinosaurs, my mind doesn't go to Jurassic Park. It goes to Wash and to Denver the Last Dinosaur.

E is for Ewan McGregor

One of my favorite actors and (oldest) crushes. I've liked him since I saw Shallow Grave on TV (I remember I had recorded it on Canal + in the middle of the night and it had embed subtitles for deaf people) which was in... 1997 probably. (now that I think about it, this is a movie with Obi-Wan & Nine trying to kill each other haha)
Favorite movies he made would be Moulin Rouge (duh, my 2nd favorite movie ever) and Trainspotting (still his best role imho). I wish he'd make good movies more consistently. And sing.

E is also for Eleven

I was very very attached to Ten/David Tennant and though I saw the regeneration I still wan't believe he's gone forever. In my head the two co-exist. DENIAL is a happy place. But I'm very excited about the new series with Eleven, I hope he'll be really different from Ten or Nine (the only two I know). And I hope season 5 will be refreshing with new villains and characters and a new showrunner who wrote a few of my favorite episodes (The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances, The Girl in the Fireplace, Blink...). So I'll be watching Eleven with an open mind!

F is for Football

Oh football. I'm nostalgic for a time I've never lived. Back when it meant sth to play for a team and when big money wasn't necessary to win. My mom has been a fan of our local team (FC Nantes) for almost 50 years and my whole family is. She and I still are season ticket holders though the glory days are far behind us. Well, not that far, after all we were French Champions in 2001 (that was SO great, running on the field to celebrate and all). But it went bad very fast. We used to be this little club with a feeling of family and lots of young players, and a very offensive playing style that made our reputation. But 1/ we can't keep our young players anymore, these morons think they're stars at 15 bc a big European club wants them and they want to be paid big money, they leave and then they end up completely unknown while they could have stayed with us and learn football & 2/ we got bought by incompetent morons who broke everything and then by other incompetent morons who did the same. As a result, after about 45 years in 1st League (French record) we got relegated in 2nd League... twice now and now we even suck in 2nd League and it's depressing.

I also love my national team and hate how French people are all like "woohoo! yay love them!" when they won the World Cup and the Euro and when they suck they're like "boo! hate them!". That's not what being a football fan is!

As far as players go, I have a soft spot for players who were trained in Nantes when they were young. And I don't care what anyone thinks, I still love Thierry Henry.

F is also for Firefly

I'm gonna sound all corny again and say that what I love about that show is the love and the feeling of family that surrounds it. And it's epic and brilliant and funny and has Captain Tight-Pants who might be my favorite fictional character ever. It was my introduction to the Whedonverse. My favorite episode is Out of Gas. I will blame FOX forever for messing up with it and cancelling it. I guess we could say that as a result there's not a single bad episode. There's no Stranger in a Strange Land or Black Market haha.

G - Gjokaj Enver

The least you can say about Dollhouse is that it brought us Enver Gjokaj. What a find! He can play ANYone. It's crazy. I don't know what to add because if you do watch the show, you know. And if you don't, I hope you get to see him in other projects because you need to know who he is. (though I doubt another project will give him the opportunity to play so many different characters)
