Hot Celebs Poll, Round 2

LJ is behaving again so here's round 2!

I don't know if it's a reflection of people deserting LJ but I'm getting half as many votes as last year! Don't people like looking at pretty people? :p

Hot Celebs Poll: Year 3

It's this time of the year again! (I checked, last year I began this on April 12, quite close!)

As a reference, the final results from last year and the year before!

I made 6-7 changes to each list to keep things interested and to reflect the ppl I like right now I guess!

THE RULES
1. I picked 20 female and 20 male celebs I find attractive.
2. Everyday (or so) I'll make a poll and you'll have to vote for the TWO girls and TWO guys you find the least attractive (and later on just one of each).
3. With the daily poll I'll post the results with pretty pictures of the people who were eliminated.

lists and Round 1 poll )

Please feel free to root for your favourites *cough*pics and gifs*cough*.

March 2011

I'm only including things I'd never watched/read before.

Movies: 3
I seem to watch very few movies the month following the Oscars, maybe because many nominated movies get released here at that time and then... almost nothing interesting...
- Despicable Me
- Never Let Me Go
- Paul

TV
I watched Miranda for the 1st time and am now up to episode 3x17 of Farscape (oh my heart).
(on a sidenote, I CAN'T WAIT FOR S6 OF DOCTOR WHO AAAAAHHHH HAVE YOU SEEN THE TRAILER? OF COURSE YOU HAVE)

Books: 2
~ Serenity: The Shepherd's Tale by Joss&Zack Whedon
~ A Clash of Kings by George R.R. Martin
finally finished book 2 of a Song of Ice and Fire! I think I'm gonna take a break from them for now because I don't own the rest of the books and I need a change and I think that's enough before the TV show begins (yay!!! it looks good)

also been (re)reading some old French comics I found (pdf files)

Help Japan!

I'm offering postcards from France here. (that's all I can afford right now)

There's some really cool stuff, go browse the threads and bid! I wish I were as creative as the people there.

The news from Japan are so sad and scary and I can't help refreshing the news sites all day. Those poor people :( Earthquake AND Tsunami AND now the nuclear plants crisis.

I have to say I'm STILL reading A Clash of Kings, these books are loooong and I still get confused about the characters, should have taken notes. And I keep falling asleep reading it not because it's boring but because I'm tired lol.

Oscars weekend

on Friday I saw The King's Speech. BRILLIANT. It moved me, filled my eyes with tears, made me laugh at times, it was gorgeous (cinematography & music), the actors were perfect. Give Colin Firth his Oscar already.

Yesterday I saw Black Swan. I arrived 30 min early and there was no tickets left! The King's Speech was full too. Meanwhile, Rien à Déclarer was at 19:30, 20:00 and 21:00 and there was a lot of tickets left for each time. It made me feel like "yay people have good taste" (ok I admit I haven't seen this and shouldn't judge but...) but also "boo, why does it get so many theaters". Anyway, we bought tickets for the 22:15 Black Swan screening, which was full too in the end! I thought it was a great movie, it looked fabulous, the actors were amazing (omg Natalie Portman. But Vincent Cassel was A+ too, and Mila Kunis, and everyone). But it was really freaky and stressful so idk how much I liked it you know? And I'm no wuss but parts of it were really scary or made me cringe (not in a "this is bad" way! in a "eww" or "ouch" way lol). Can a movie move you and made you feel uncomfortable at the same time? Well yes apparently.

Now I need to watch sth in which Natalie Portman is happy and lives happily ever after because I felt so bad for her character. Will probably go see No Strings Attached haha.

And then today I saw The Kids are All Right, which was alright (haha) but pretty forgettable next to the 2 I just talked about or Inception for instance.

I plan to go see 127 Hours and True Grit in theaters in the next couple of weeks. And I have acquired The Social Network (I missed it in theaters) and The Fighter and Winter's Bone (will not be released in time here). I'm gonna watch at least one of these tonight.

And then I'll be ready for the Oscars (well the best picture category)! Which I won't be able to watch live this year but whatever!

Clear Eyes, Full Hearts...

Thank you for these 5 seasons, FNL. You were perfect. (whatever, I don't care, I even liked season 2 and its controversial events) The series finale is perfect. Will not say more because some of you watch it on NBC.

I do want to discuss it with ppl who've seen it though, please comment if you feel like it :)

I'm so sad it's over.

;_____; this was my face earlier and still is.

Don't leave me, Mr&Mrs coach.

But at the same time it's a satisfying ending.

TEXAS FOREVER.

January 2011

I'm only including things I'd never watched/read before.

Movies: 5 (-5 vs 2010... but 3 of them in theater)
- Burlesque (3/5)
- Tangled (4/5)
- The Switch (3/5)
- The Green Hornet (3.5/5)
- Easy A (3/5)

TV episodes:
I'm not gonna count those anymore, just talk about new shows I watch. Let's see... Off The Map, whose sole interest resides in Caroline Dhavernas and Zach Gilford and that's enough for now. The Cape, which I find mostly boring for now but it has Summer Glau and Bear McCreary's epic music. Episodes, but I fell behind. Fairly Legal, which is light and fun and has Trucco.

Books: 1 (-1 vs 2010 but those were short reads, this was was looong!)
it's actually 2 books for me as the French editions divide the books!
- A Game of Thrones ~ George R.R. Martin (4/5)

I didn't watch too much TV in December though, with my lack of internet. I did start to watch Farscape (about 7 episodes maybe?) and I like it so far but don't love it (yet?).

BEST HP MOVIE BY FAR. There's NO contest. Why didn't they make all of them like that?

my thoughts (very detailed) )

I think that's it.

Link me to your posts about it! I know I skipped a lot of them.

Friends-Cut

I've decided to make one today. I had a list of 127 mutual friends, which is crazy. I'm at a point in my "internet life" where I don't necessarily want to interact with that many people everyday. I'm now down to 74(!).

There are a lot of people that I did not connect with/with whom I barely ever interact/I lost touch with. And it feels like the more people I have on my f-list, the less are actually reading my (I have to admit, not that interesting) posts.

When I say we don't interact, I don't mean "omg plz comment on my posts", I'm not fishing for comments and I don't want them to be forced, it has to come naturally. And interaction is not only LJ, I spend a lot of time talking to a bunch of you through other means. This is not a "you don't update enough!" cut either.

On a sidenote, I'm not 100% sure I didn't make any mistake. I feel like maybe there are some people I interact with on Twitter but who have a different username on LJ and I got confused about their identity (I know, I'm lame!). Please tell me if it's the case.

I hope none of you will hate me for this (but if you do, it's your own right). It's not that I don't like you, but I feel like this is the honest thing to do.

And everyone: if you want to defriend me for whatever reason please feel free to do so.

Comments are screened.

Mandatory "No Twitter/Facebook crossposting" post

Don't crosspost your comments in my LJ anywhere please. (I don't think anyone here likes this new feature anyway but still, better safe than sorry).

if your journal has Custom Journal Style enable on your entries and people are not viewing your page in their own style, here's a way to get rid of the ticky boxes:

(via [livejournal.com profile] nowgold, thanks babe)

1. Go to your "Journal" menu, and select "Journal Style"
2. To the right, you'll see what theme you're using, with a link stating "Customize Your Theme". Click that link.
3. Scroll down a little ways, and you'll see that on the left side of your screen, you have multiple options to modify your theme. Click on the "Custom CSS" link, and it should load the options for doing Custom CSS.
4. From here, all you have to do is go to the "Custom Stylesheet", and put in this line:

.b-repost-item, FORM#qrform > TABLE[style="border: 1px solid black;"]:last-child TD[style="vertical-align: top; text-align: right;"]:first-child { display: none !important; }

Once you have it pasted in there, save changes.

Also, here's a script to get rid of them in your browser.

long time no meme...

I posted icons, for the 1st time in... 9 months. Mostly shows I needed icons for and couldn't find any I liked lol. And some Lost icons I'd been sitting on for months.

Sean Harry just announced that EJO will be a guest at Invasion next year. Duuuude. Just as I was thinking "um, not that excited about this one, not enough BSG guests." Now that's 2 I've never met + 1 from Caprica + Clea Duvall who was on everything ever. So I'm thinking Echo-2 + Invasion next year. I'd really like to go to Basauricon 2.0 in Spain too because helloooo Katee+Trucco. Is it 2011 yet? 2010 is a bit boring for me :(

So yeah, still need a job like woah. I got an email a few days ago from a company saying they wanted to talk to me on the phone following my application and they sent me really detailed information about the company and the job. So I emailed back saying I was still very interested and was available all days this week and the next and gave my landline number so that we could arrange a time and date for the phone itw. But still no news now! Frustrating. It's actually a job that's really not in my usual area (which is food industry) but still in marketing and it sounds interesting.

oh and there's this one too, if one word is not enough lol
